albertan, you are correct about the #1 not being for the guy who only shoots 5 or 6 shots a year, but the #1 is not typically purchased/used by that type of person.
From what I have seen, they migrate towards a large, heavy recoiling, long range cartridge in a plastic stocked stainless rifle and do not make the effort to know how to use the rifle in an effective manner.
