Pretty much depends on what I am doing. I can not be restricted to one gun due to being involved in more than one shooting sport. Let's see how many "firearms" a sportsman needs to have in possession.
Air Rifle target = indoor and field target - minimum 2 + spares and varmint shooting = several.
Varmint powder burners, CF and RF - several of each calibre .17's and .22's both CF and RF.
Big Game CF, from coyote/wolf to elk and moose = at least 3 rifles
Upland Birds, turkey, migratory game birds = several shotguns
Black Powder = CF Rifle Ctg.- at least 2, Percussion and Flintlock rifles and shotguns, Flintlock handguns and Percussion handguns, as well CF handguns.= many guns
Handgun target shooting, ISU, Cowboy Action, IPSC. 2 for ISU, Minimum of 4 for CB Action and at least 2 for IPSC - revolver and auto. Can't or couldn't choose one - I need them all.
BUT - The rifle that makes me smile the most when I'm shooting it, is this one:
Love your post Daryl
Agree with everyone else..can NOT choose just one..too much diversity in what most of us do --bird hunting..mountain hunting of big game, varmint calling and shooting, home defense (could also fall into varmint category then there is Africa and Dangerous Game...but if I had to nail it down to just one would probably be my Dad's old Remington 22 rimfire I had restored..more sentiment than any of the rest..
