Hmmmm - nothing wrong with the 6.5x55 in a short barrel, probably just that the M96 service rifles that most people are familiar with are long(ish).

I was really only teasing about the Kurz and M96, what I was getting at is there really isn't any "Modern" stalking rifle that can add anything to that of well over 100 years ago!!
