Interested in the shortest shot?....well here goes...I was sitting on a tree stump on the opening day of deer season in Wisconsin and to my delight a doe came by the post and stopped and looked at me. She seemed nervous and confused but in a few seconds the mood seemed to change to curious. I sat motionless except to slowly switch the safety to fire and very slowly raise the muzzle of the .375. The deer eventually came close enough to actually smell the end of the barrel at about two inches...

There was no meat loss and the venison tasted great.
