That's a different issue, and partly a mounting issue, depending on what mount & ring options are available for your rifle's receiver. You mentioned the Bender 1-8x. Beside the 2-7x, I also looked at some of the 2.5-8xs, as they were highly recommended by hunters who take shots over 200yds, but for my anticipated hunting (mine's a 300 H&H for use on African Plains game), the top-end of 7x should suffice for shots out to 300-350yds. Most shots will be closer, I'm guessing, as PHs want to get the client as close as possible w/o spooking the game. Whichever scope you ultimately settle on, the AHR rifle will be a great treasure in your collection! Good hunting ... ![]() |
