I've been dancing around with a 300 Weatherby for a couple of years now, I had one when I was a teenager and sold it many moons ago, pretty sure the reason was a girl. Yesterday I ordered a 300 Weatherby from AHR on a standard CZ action, apperantly you don't need the magnum action for this caliber. The gun is intended to be my moose, sable, eland and roan rifle. Maybe brown bear, I have a trip booked with Phil for 2017. A Canadian moose trip in 2016. And a 2015 With Zambezi Delta Safari for Eland and Sable (also buff). The details so far are; 25 inch stainless match barrel AHR new synthetic express stock Barrel band sling swivel Barrel band front sight, flip up moon sight and folding hood Quarter rib, with 1 folding leaf, sighted at 100y with the moon sight Brono style pop up peep sight, sighted at 200y with the regular bead LOP 14.75 inches Talley QR rings 2-12x42 Leupold VX6 illuminated Inletted 2 screw real sling swivel Cerecoated Anything else I should consider or add to the invoice? Maybe just a cool touch or two. I don't think I need a steel grip cap, never seen one on a synthetic stock but maybe a spot to store a spare front sight? |
