Thinking of doing a 9.3x64 mid range working quality gun on a CRF action and looking for opinions? One idea is a CZ550 conversion as its 'nice' without being overly expensive and also I have several Cz' so its a bit of a collectors theme for me. There are rarely ever any 9.3 x62 CZ550's avaialble in country and being in a bit of a hurry considering a CZ classic in 3006 or 270 win as start point with new barrel. Any suggestions or thoughts on this conversion, also good barrel makers in .366? I would also consider any other relatively cheap conversions that end up in character for this cartridge. Of the existing 9.3x62's out there which seem the easiest route the Zasatava 9.3 I'm not too keen on, the stocks are obviously pretty so-so, though what price could someone get a half decent one to replace it? The sako85 has a typically continental overly complicated detach magazine I can't stand- being you need both hands on it squeezing different latches to release it. The other continental offerings like the Voere, Haenel and Rossler 9.3's I am also predicting in advance will have some kind of annoying low capacity frigging detatch mag I'd most like a fixed box with at least 5 down capacity and prepared to pay the dollars in this one area to redesign the magazine. I know a good gunsmith can do this on a CZ550 for the right money but if there is a cheaper more obvious option out there willing to consider it instead... |
