I agree - the 9.6x62 has literally 'taken off'. Once people realize it is not restricted to it's factory loaded level of 1923 ballistics when hand loaded, it should increase further in popularity. On the other hand, being a mild mannered, but git'er-dun kind of round has appeal too.

John Taylor noted in "African Rifles and Cartridges" that the increased speeds to 2,340fps for the 286gr. were not necessary for any African Game. He said the original ballistics driving both soft and solid 286gr. at 2,175fps was plenty.


Those original 9.3x62 ballistics sound like a slightly more modern loaded 9.3x57 M46 Husky, don't they.
