Re: Big cases loaded back Vs small cases and top loads

Mike,

I think in the distant past, on another forum, we discussed this. I shoot a .375Ultra and I load it down to about .375Wea ballistics.......it's very pleasant to shoot. As far as the .375H&H, and, I'm not knocking it, but, with the larger .375Ultra case, I can shoot any bullet with less pressure and recoil than the H&H, especially when talking the 350gr Woodleigh and probably even the larger Rhinos(haven't tried these yet). I like the versatility of the larger cases. As far as the top loads in smaller cases, I own only one short magnum, .350RemMag, and, for my own use, I find a compressed load to be the most accurate with the accuracy falling off as the loads lighten. Max loads vary from rifle to rifle and I usually stay "within book" but, I feel there is more margin for error with the big cases. I feel that you can match a load to the game you're hunting. Actually, it's a good time reloading for all of them.

Joe
