Up to your comments, a recently finished 6,5-284 "Light Plains Game" rifle built on a 1912 commercial intermediate length Mauser Oberndorf action. As usually on our production that superb system has been the subject of a full blue printing with nothing spared to obtain the finest base for a fine rifle. The 25" barrel was turned from a "F" Class 1/8,5" twist match grade 34CrNiMo6 Lothar Walther blank, in a traditional D&D profile, with fully regulated four leaves express rear sight and interchangeable gold tipped caterpillar bead front. The classic D&D slim stock with buffalo horn forend tip, trapped grip cap (with replacement front sight) and leather covered pad was made from French walnut. Indeed we know that American taste leans toward smaller scopes on Talley type mounts, but to take advantage of that fine long range cartridge, nothing beats a top-notch European optic and a Swarovski 2,5-15x44 Z6II was chosen. Also you must consider the amount of gunsmith work needed by the completely hand fitted complex claw mount holding a failsafe return to zero…and that rifle has been ordered by a great US hunter and collector!
