Hello, I'm curious if someone have any input on a steel buttcap on a .308 win?
On one hand Im a little worried the recoil going to be much harder, on the other hand I cant imagine steel being much worse than a bakelite/hard-plastic one. Also, .308 win. Isnt the hardest recoiling caliber..

The reason Im curious is that I found a old Krag-Jørgensen stock in the attic during the christmas, the wood is too (water) damaged to restore and most metal parts are heavily attacked by rust, except for the buttcap that have this neat little "hatch" Id like to make use of.
