As discussed on numerous other threads, ammo availability can be an issue when traveling on Safari. You should be able to pick up 30-06 ammo just about anywhere, many PH's & Safari companies have spare ammo around in the common calibers.
The 300 WSM is a fine cartridge but it's still hard to beat the 30-06 track record!
