I have had both an R93 and an R8. The R8 is quite a bit heavier than an R93.

The R8 bolt has been slightly redesigned - the angle of the chamfer on the back of the petals is now at a right angle whereas on the R93 its about 70-80 degrees. This is to make it stronger and the R8 action has apparently been tested to over 200 000psi in Germany.

I have no doubt the R8 action is stronger.

But I now also have an M03. To me I just prefer the turnbolt action and its much easier to top load quickly - something the Blasers can be quite difficult to do - particularly with a large Euro scope fitted.

However the Blaser pull system is very quick if one practises with. 3-4 shots almost as quick as a double and the system itself as a takedown is really quite a brilliant piece of engineering.

There is no doubt though that a lot of European hunters like the Blaser! I believe they have about 80% of the market there?

The M03s are excellent value here in Australia tat the moment.........
