I compared it to my R93. Of course you have a magazine on the R8, but I am used to not have a magazine and do not find it disadvantageous. And I do not like the concept with trigger and magazine in same unit. They say the trigger is better, I don´t feel any big difference, it´s ok on at least my R93. If you have a R93 already with several barrels, you can´t use them in the R8. The Blasers are good rifles, but in my opinion if you really want one, you could buy a used R93 for a really good price from somebody who desperately wants himself a R8
