The .280 Ackley resurgence has puzzled me. The 7 mm Remington Short Action Ultra Magnum will do at least what the older round will do, but in a true short action. Lightweight, with a stiffer action, I have been amazed that it was not better received amongst the mountain men who tote these rifles up and down the most difficult terrain in hunting.
