Re: The KRISS .45 caliber sub-machine gun

G'Day Fella's,

Thanks for that article Ripp, very interesting!

I would just like to state my observations, on this design.
One of the individuals, stated something about the Kriss sub-machine gun was "the biggest innovation in a firing systems, in a century"!
Another stated that it was a Fourth Generation in Sub-Machine guns!
It really is a very nice bit of kit but.......

From what I have seen, it actually appears to be a self loading variation, on the John Moses Browning's 1887 Lever Action shotgun design?
The way the Kriss breach rotates Back and Down, is basically the same as the 1887!
This is how they get away from the big steel breech bolt slamming back and forward and causing so many problems with Recoil and Muzzle Jump! Most of the inertia from the breech bolt, is being directed downwards!

Obviously, it is self loading and not manually (Lever) operated but maybe the design should be referred to as; "A Self-Loading version of a 125 Year Old Design"!!!....???

Also, click on the interview with Mr Jeff Cooper!
Obviously , this was conducted not long before he passed away.
Interesting to here Mr Cooper say the us Australians, were the people that gave the "El Presidente" course, it's name!

Doh!
