All the guns I've given my son are his to keep. I don't want them back. They were a gift for us to hunt with together.

As to were they good or were they crap. His first gun was a Marlin SS 60 22 cal.almost new. Then a Savage 24 o/u 222 on top 20 gauge in the bottom. Then a Weatherby Athena 20 gauge I know he loves this one and his first big game rifle was a Marlin lever 336C. I had to keep in mind his short LOP. He shot a 6 point buck and a boar with one shot each from the Marlin and his first turkey with the Savage.

The guns I have given him fit and function well. When he gets a little bigger I'll give him my Mauser 3000L in 30-06 so he can get ready for our trip to Africa.

These were once mine and I hope hierlooms at that. But he still asks for his "Own" rifle.
