When the velocities rise above about 2,800fps, one must start thinking seriously about the newer premium bullets.

The .308 Norma's early 1970's acceptance here in BC probably coincided with or was related to the Norma bullets of the day - steel clad pointy/semi-round nosed with boat tails and capable of giving reasonable performance on our moose and elk. With ranges normally 300yards or closer, they worked a treat, so to speak, and did exceptionally well on goats and sheep for the climbers.
