A 'late' friend of mine was a Ruger collector. I bed several of these, changed the barrels around on a couple others and never saw one that wouldn't shoot well under an inch. That accuracy standard included not only his .338, but the .416 Rigby as well.
Glass bedding was not a problem on any of them.
