A short barrel, how much fps do you give up??

Hi all.
A rifle with a short barrel is handy. But, how much FPS do one end up giving away for that handy handling?
Thinking of a rifle with a 24" and one with a 20-22" barrel? The caliber I am thinking of is 8*57IS.
Are there nay program to figure it out?
