Ash The Winchester 670 was an economy version of the push feed Model 70 (Post 64). If memory serves it differs from the Model 70 in that the stock was not walnut, it has a blind magazine and a safety that locks the trigger. Believe that the follower was riveted to the magazine spring and it has no separate bolt lock. The bolt sleeve also differs from the Model 70. This is a good action and can be used for any cartridge that is suitable in the Model 70. When introduced in the mid 1960's the rifle was also available in .270, .30-06, .264 Win. Mag. and .300 Win. Mag. and possibly, a few others. Bill |
