I have used them in my 404j on Cape Buffalo and Hyena,375 H&H on pigs and Scrub bulls.9.3x62 on Scrub Bulls and pigs,338 win mag on Scrub Bulls and pigs and now have some 170 grain Hydro's for my 8x68s to try.

Just reduce your standard load a little and work back up.
All my rifles run the same load for "normal" projectiles as the Hydro's of the same weight.

Have not used any in 30 cal though.
