Hope the Vmax isn't too soft - they are usually varmint bullets designed for light game. At around 3000 to 3100, the 87gr. should be OK. I ran them 3600fps from my 26" AckImp .257Roberts and they blew up on contact with coyotes right to 200/250yards - huge gaping holes in the hides. No tracking,though.
