Do you intend to hunt with the ghost ring or have it as back up and hunt with a scope?
I have a rigby type of bolt mounted aperture on my own 7x57 and have taken animals out to 185yds so far with it (and 160gn cast boolits)and like you am confident out a bit further. I carry a 2-7 in qd rings that rides in a leather scope bag on my back til and unless it is needed.
