Re: 358 Winchester and the lone wolf.

Gentlemen,

I have been off this site for a year or so, but mere mention of my beloved .358 has gotten my immediate attention. After acquiring my BLR, my mission was to develop loads capable of 250 to 300 yard capability. Bullet expansion at long ranges (I am a hunter, not a shooter, 300 yards is a long way for me) was a problem. Then John Barsness published his article in Handloader, & all was well.

For me, the answer was Tac Powder & magnum primers with 225 & 250 grain bullets. No more compressed loads, & excellent accuracy. I use a 150 yard sightin, & both the 225 Sie & the 250 Sp GS are on hair easily at 300 yards.
