In my case the choice has to be a muzzle loading rifle. This is based on the fact that I can hunt with a muzzle loader in every county in Virginia, but centerfire guns are subject to a patchwork quilt of regulations. Some counties prohibit shotgun slugs but allow buckshot, some places prohibit buckshot but allow slugs, some counties prohibit centerfire rifles, some allow centerfire rifles. It's a mess. But I can use my muzzle loader everywhere, all the time. That's what I do too, use the muzzle loader all season long.
