Oh Yes, for sure! As I wrote, H&H was in difficulties at those times and they used anything that was available. I also remeber another H&H .375 from that time, built on an opened up military 98K action, apparently from a sniper rifle, as there were filled-in sidemount holes still visible. Alloy mag too! H&H even sold those mag boxes to other gunmakers, they were advertized in America, if I remember correctly, but I have to go through several meters of literature to retrieve the source.
