I think I'll take my .270 Win loaded with 140-150gr Nosler partitions or something like that.

Of course, this is if don't pick up an '06 between now and then. Of course it'll have to be a pre 64 M70 fwt, to match my 270 and 308.

Now I need to work on my riflemanship, particularly getting plenty of practice at off hand shots and with shooting sticks out to around 200 yards, I guess. I have spent the last 6 months practicing for my NZ southern mountains hunt. I guess Africa will be quite different shooting to that.

What's your experience, those who have been there, at types of shots and distances on game such as Kudu, Gemsbok, Cape Springbok and the like in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa?
