Anyone have any ideas on a good choice of period correct scope for a 1959-1960 Winchester 88 in 243? I recently purchased one at a really good price and it turns out its in very good original condition (but missing its magazine). The plan was to off load it at a profit, but I think I really like it and I'll keep it. I haven't had much experience with lever guns but the others I've used were not great. This on the other hand is impressive on many fronts. So I need to pick up a decent scope that wont look out of place. As I'll mainly be using it on goats and the occasional pig, I was thinking of a 2-7x scope. I had a quick look and weavers, redfields, burris etc all have such a model that goes back a bit, but which one is best optically speaking. At the end of the day, they are old scopes so I dont want to end up with a scope I cant use. George |
