I tried a Remington in 300 Weatherby once. It had a plastic stock and, despite the high velocity, I thought the recoil very mild. If they all have 12" twists, I'd be surprised if they shoot 220-grainers with much accuracy, though. Using a 257 Weatherby Mag for kudu and leopard reminds me of Elmer Keith's analogy of driving a railroad spike with a tack hammer: you might be able to do it, but does it make sense? |
