Redding are heads and shoulders over RCBS in die quality, however Redding is not a good company to deal with, normally, if something goes wrong. Friends of mine have had difficulty with Redding on that account.

I prefer Hornady, Lee or Lyman dies over RCBS - ANY day.

I am not aware of problems with base diameters on other than RCBS dies, but if that's the case, I'd simply remedy that myself, on the lathe or with a slit hickory shaft and emery using an electric drill.
