A close friend has a 24" .300 WTBY Remington that gets 3,230fps with 200gr. Nosler Partitions. It holds them into 3/4" at 9x and uses IMR7828 - straight from Speer's #9 manual. It seems to have a fast barrel, but does it at what measures out to be normal factory load pressure. Due to partial full length sizing, his brass has lasted over 10 firings, annealed once and is still going strong.
I've never personally liked the .300's, but his does the job well on moose, deer and bear - same bullet for all.
