Just saw an article that Savage is coming out with a new rifle called the "Long Range Hunter" ..in which one of the calibers offered is the 6.5-284. Rifle had an ajustable stock, twist on/off brake,accutrigger and 24" button rifled barrel.

Some groups fired measured .40 at 100 yards..--handloads --factory loads produced .75---
weight w/o scope--8.75 lbs..so no sheep hunting rifle--but good for the prairie or shooting out of a stand..price--$664..Heck of a deal for the $$...
