I've hunted with the .300 Weatherby and the .300 Win Mag quite a bit. The .300 Weatherby is an outstanding cartridge and over the years I had better luck with it than the Win Mag. But I don't reload and the .300 Weatherby is expensive to shoot. When I bought my .375 Ruger I got rid of both the .300 mags and make the jump from .30-06 for most big game to .375 Ruger for bigger game. Since I seldom take a big game shot beyond 200 yards I'm perfectly satisfied with the 06/.375 combination. Really don't need anything else.
