A while back Barnes offered the Traditional range of bullets and included one in 180 grain for the .270 in their Number 1 manual they listed the following loads for it: federal cases and 210 primers, case trimmed to 2.530 inches Powder IMR 4350 46.00 (2567 fps) - max 50.00 (2685 fps) IMR 4831 47.00 (2528 fps) - max 51.00 (2690 fps) IMR 7828 50.00 (2603 fps) - max 54.00 (2731 fps) h 414 44.0 (2499 fps) - max 48.5 (2639 fps) H 4831 51.0 (2622 fps) - max 55.0 (2737 fps) RL 19 49.0 (2596 fps) - max 53.0 (2721 fps) Rl 22 49.0 (2608 fps) - max 53.5 (2743 fps) these are figures from the Barnes Volume # 1 and NOT my figures so anyone minded to follow them must advance with the usual caution. a friend did however try some here in the UK a while back and found pressure problems in his rifle ( a Sako I think) and also they did not stabilise at 100 yards, hegave up on them and went back to 150 partitions jonathan |
