I would vote for the 300 Win. Mag., it might not be as good as some others on big bears, but you really didn't say what kind of bears. I'm sure it would handle black bears without any problem. By using the different bullets available in .308 caliber, you can tailor your loads for different game. If I could not handload for this "One Rifle", I would choose the 338 Win Mag.
