I like the 270 better for big game...A 160 gr. Nosler works well for elk, and 130s are great on deer...but my actual all time love is the 30-06, it will just about do anything that any of them will and then some..

I don't think any of them are small varmint rifles, too much recoil for extended shooting all day long on prarie dogs or rock chucks, I like a 222 for that..
