Thanks gryphon, I had not noticed. I had a closer look at the release button and found that even the horizontal slope on the button is from the left going down to the right. Is it deliberate ??? as it is more comfortable to operate like this with the forefinger of the right hand? Will it be reversed on a left hand action.

Can anyone who has one of the newer Win 70's look and confirm if this is true?

I had a look at the release button on my below pictured pre-64 M70 and the button does not have the above said slope/slant.
