I am a great fan of the Winchester M70 Classic and pre-64 rifles. They were unfairly tarred in the press.

I haven't seen one of the new M70's, but the fact that they abandoned the wonderful M70 trigger is a negative to me. Who wants a stamped Rem/Timney/Etc. trigger when the M70 failsafe trigger is out there to be had.

Can't say I am familiar with the new Kimbers either. I know in the past that mark has suffered from terrible QC atrocities.

I would go for as M70 in some form. Maybe not the newest one, and certainly not the push feed.
