Welcome to a fine forum. The newest version of the M-70 is a unknown and unproven entity. There aren't many if any out there and I have a feeling they aren't much. The only one I have seen is a featherweight at a local shop and it is very crooked in the stock. Makes me think the barrel is not square in the receiver. A common M70 problem. If he was looking at a New Haven built classic then maybe, MAYBE that would be a choice. The 84, 8400, Montana, Sonora, Caprivi, Talkeetna have it all over any factory M-70. I have had a few Kimbers and still currently have a Caprivi and they are a wonderfully done mass produced gun. |
