Here I don't know of many .264 Win's, but many years ago in the first wave of milsurp imports the 6.5 Swede gained a surprisingly large following. Maybe due at first to the cheapness of the guns, then later because they work, just as you say. The 6.5x55 has a very good reputation here and many guns are used each year for deer and elk, mostly sporterized Swede Mausers. Then in the '90's another wave of the sporter Swedes came thru and again many were sold locally. It is funny. Most Euro calibers are unknown around here, but mention the 6.5 Swede in any bar or restaurant and it'll get kudos by a good portion of the crowd!

I got rid of my 96 Mausers a while back, but still use the 6.5x55 in my Rugers. My youngest shot her first deer with one just a bit over a week ago.
