Have had the opportunity to shoot one of the NEW winchesters...in 300 Win Mag...surprised to see the overall fit looked really good --especially compared to what they were putting out the last year or 3..

The barrel was freefloated...trigger was actually pretty good and the gun was shooting under 1 1/2" --this was only the one load I tried..."was not my gun"...just lucky enough to be at the range when this guy showed up...it was their featherweight model..

Interestingly enough--the stamp on the barrel has Morgan, Utah on it and NOT the plant in S Carolina..not really sure what is going on there..was told one of two possibilities..barrels are coming from there or the new plant is not up and running yet..not sure on the validity of these statements --just what I heard..

Also the models have "limited edition 2008" on the floorplates...which, again, allegedly..will only be for the first few runs...

Will advise when I find out more...
