Agree totally ,, the .264 Win Mag is an awesome round--picked up a limited edition in that caliber---first few loads all under an 1" at 100 yards---has some possibilities...
There is also an article regarding "Retro Rounds"..in this months Rifle Shooter" magazine --of which the .264 is mentioned...interesting article..
The 264 Win got a bad rap and bad timing as you pointed out with the introduction of the Remington 7mm...however ballistically, it is an awesome round..
