That would be my rimless .577, which duplicates .577 NE performance in a shortened, 2.500" case. It weighs just at 13 pounds and the recoil is a powerful shove, but I usually end up taking two steps backwards each time I shoot it. It took a while to evolve a movement, like a little dance step, to keep my feet from getting tangled up. The movement to avoid is left foot over right foot. I end up on the ground every time. The most effective one involves putting most of my weight on my left foot and leaning into the shot like a trap shooter, then taking a step backward with the right foot as the round goes off, followed by a step backward with the left foot. Don't try this on the edge of a cliff. 130 grains of 4895 and a 750 grain bullet produces 2050 fps, which should make the most discerning Ndofu happy. |
