Being in Cyprus, courtesy of Her Majesty, has many advantages. However , one of the disadvantages is the legal position pertaining to firearms ownership. Although I have my shotguns here with me, rifles seem to be illegal, although no one is able to tell my how or why.
This is made even more annoying by the fact that I've found two very nice looking rifles that are for sale in the UK by one of the big names. The first is a WW Greener in .318 Westley Richards and the other is a Cogswell & Harrison in .375 H&H, selling at £1500 ($2200 US) and £1670 ($2500) respectively. Although these are certainly not cheap guns, they are good value for collectible and usable classic English rifles. As anyone who knows me from the old board will be aware, these are two of my favourite calibres and it is very frustrating to not be able to buy them. I daresay they will be gone by the time I'm posted back to the UK. Bugger!
