You may want to contact Dale at Schuerman Arms Ltd. in Arizona. at Schuermanarms.com I am not 100% sure if he makes his rifle in SS but I bet he would consider it.... it's the smoothest bolt I have operated. DT |

DT, Dale Schuerman does make his rifles in stainless. I met him last year at Milwaukee and he was one of the most pleasant men I have ever met. He took a considerable amount of time to explain his rifle's design and his design philosophy and did it in a way that someone like me who has little mechanical knowledge could easily understand. For whoever is interested his website is www.schuermanarms.com though I would recommend that they talk to him. I guess he gets his patience from being an MD. Cheers! |

You say you want a SS M70 custom rifle? Mark Penrod is your man. Doubt you could do much better. I am seriously considering having him do a rifle for me in 338 WM. Mark Penrod 260-982-8385 markpenrod@kconline.com Check out some of his work; http://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&f=9411043&m=997103992 |

Quote: I''ve never heard of Mr. Schuerman and now thanks to Mehul I was introduced on what seems a very interesting action and rifle maker. Surely seems pretty nice and worth a closer look. Mahul, if possible please let us know more about those rifles. |

Gustavo, What I know of Dr Schuerman's rifles is from the patient explanation that I received from him at last year's NRA convention. I have not shot one of his rifles and even if I did, I am not an expert. But, I tried the bolt and it was probably the smoothest I had tried on any rifle, smoother than a Sauer 90 or a Mannlicher even. The trigger had a safety like on a Glock pistol and the rifles are offered with so many different options and features that they are almost unique for each one that is made. He showed me a novel pair of metal sights that he had designed for a client who wanted the sights to be on the same level that a scope would be at - very unique and nothing like I had seen before even in pictures. I am sure that you could call him and discuss his rifles with him. He is a very pleasant man to talk to and patient in the extreme. The rifles are not traditional but they seemed very nicely made by someone who seems passionate about his ideas. If a cranky old fashioned character like me could be impressed, I am sure that those who are much more knowledgeable than I am would be vastly more so. Good hunting! |

Quote: Lex Webernick does an awesome job---you can get lightweight or standard --I have purchasd one in a .280 --very accurate--shoots 1/2 inch at 100 yards using 140 gr.Barnes Triple X's.. You can do a search for him on the web--he used to be in Utah but has since moved to Texas.. thx Ripp |

For a true wilderness-type hunting rifle, that Glock-type trigger safety is a stupid idea -- it's an accident just waiting to happen. I'll take a simple, well-tuned, well put-together rifle on a Mauser-type action with a conventional, direct-acting safety that cams-back and blocks the firing pin any day of the week. I will certainly recommend the work of Mark Penrod and Gene Simillion............... AD |

Quote: Mehul, Thanks for your reply. For sure his rifles show a novel approach and fine workmanship, at least for what can be appreciated in the photos. The features are very interesting too. Maybe a call in the near future is in order! regards, Gus |
