Whitetail loads for the 375 H&H

I am ready to tune up and begin hunting with my M70 Super Express 375 H&H. I have plenty of of time to work my way up to full power premium bullet buffalo loads but for now all I need is an affordable deer load with a reasonable middle distance trajectory. I am starting with the Hornady 225 gr spirepoint in the 2500-2700 fps range. Suggestions as to affordable bullets and preferred powders are welcomed.

Re: Whitetail loads for the 375 H&H

Nordrseta,

I have recently acquired a .375 Dakota model 76 to complement my .375 double rifle. Were the double needs its projectiles to travel a certain velocity for regulation; the bolt action can afford reduced velocity loads. Here within lies the problem. What bullet/powder/load for such a reduced load? I particularity like the Barnes 270 TSX – and they are long for caliber. I have one load that will slow it down to 2480 fps , but would like to see around 2200 fps. I have some super-slow H1000 that I will try on some speer 235 soft points.

Anyone have a good reduced load for .375 H&H?
