That's great Casper. Glad you can get it working. My dad had one of those when he was a kid. My best buddy's(with whom I worked with for 20 years)Dad here in PG had one back in the 50's. Old Pete used his Stevens .25 RF for deer and moose.
Very cool method of having reloadable cases.
Can you buy the primed .22 RF cases (shorts Or CB caps I assume), or do you have to buy ammo and pull the bullets?

I use the yellow ramset cartridges. No powder. Just the ramset is powerful enough. Other's use a .22 blank and fill the case with black powder.

the ramset loads without extra powder do well and no messing with powder. Just push in a ramset yellow tip and a bullet and it's ready.

I understand in Russia when 22 RF ammo was short or too expensive at some stage that some individuals reloaded spent 22 RF cases using a paste made from match heads to 'reline' the case heads, then a bit of powder probably black powder, capping off with a 22 cal BB or pellet and rotating the cartridge in the chamber to ensure an undented portion of the rim is presented to the firing pin.
Can't see why it wouldn't work, the Russkies may have to resort to this again if the current financials sanctions bite deep enough after their invasion of Ukraine.
Could be a way of reactivating cartridges for obsolete rimfires provided the owner has some spent cases or unfired ammo to start with i.e. don't through away spent rimfire cases!!!!

I have a kit that they sell to reload .22s. Haven't tried it yet. Suppose to load 2000 of them.

there are bigger blanks in use in europe that will fit into the stevens, in 4 grades and with 11 and 18 mm long cases.
like this green ( lightest load) 500 for 40 euro
called the 6,8/11 and the 6,8/18

lancaster we have .27 caliber blanks as well. Some just push a bullet into the rifling then load a .27 and fire. Fiddly.

You can actually buy a rimfire reloading tool, it has bullet molds and bullet crimper built in, you can even hammer out the old indent with a flat head nail.
I thought about buying one but figured buying 20,000 rounds of 22lr on special was the better option.

You will regret that when the apocalypse comes and you run out of those 20,000 rounds. Oh why, didn't I hoard up all that RF brass and buy a RF reloading kit

Well eventually I bought another 15,000 rounds when they had a clearance sale.
I've been shooting that stockpile for about 10 years now. I figured when they only cost $3.50 a box when bought by the 5000 case that ammunition would never be that cheap again, so stock up and shoot them for life.

the green load of the 6,8/11 is the right stuff to shoot the rare 7 mm Flobert http://old.municion.org/7lp/7mmFlobert.htm
you just load a 7 mm roundball into the barrel before.
do not know before this cartridge is available in the united states. there is a third tool blank caliber, the 6,3/10 rimfire cartridge, do you have this too?

yes, must be the 6,3/10 rimfire. its siting in a fullmoon clip but with a loading press you get them out easily. to see if it works I made adapter cases for the 9 mm Flobert rimfire.
the 22 long blank came out off favour decades ago here
