OK I'm looking for some help myself here. I'm getting really irritating "Messenger Service" pop-ups on my PC when logged into the net. They ask you to go to some BS site and also when closed try to open a browser window to the site. My firewall prevents this. I have previously had them and they slow everything down and pop-up every hour when logged in. My anti-virus software doesn't detect any files either and the anti-virus vendor McAfee indiciated their s/w doesn't do anything to prevent them. Any ideas on how to "fix" them? Also how are they activated to pop-up? Is there a resident file on my PC, a web-site, or do they somehow detect when you are logged into the net from a netserver somewhere? Thanks. They are really pissing me off and if I could send something "nasty" back down the line, or visit in person with a suitable tool for rapidly shutting down a computer (a sledgehammer for instance or two 480 gr Woodleigh softpoints) I would with no doubt. |
