CREATE A NEW POST OR THREAD
NOTE: If you take too long to finish off a post, the post may "time out" on some browser types. If you have taken some time to finish a post, highlight or select all the text in the "Post" dialogue box, and copy it. If the post fails and you can not BACK to the post,it will be saved and by selecting PASTE it can be retrieved. This is providing you haven't copied or cut anything else in between.
Click on the "Main Index" (under the purple bar at the top of forum table)
Click on the appropriate Forum title from the list of forums.
eg "General including General Hunting & Shooting"
Click on the "Post" button (just above the forunm table)
In the "Subject" dialogue box, type in the title of your thread.
In the "Post" dialogue box, type in your post text, add UBBcode for various formating, images, links etc.
There are a number of lines above the "Continue" box.
"Preview" - check this box if you want to review your post before posting it. Leave it blank if you want to post immediately.
"Add Signature" - if you want to add a signature set of text and/or code which you have pre-set elsewhere.
"CONTINUE" - to post your thread/post.
instant UBB code works by bracketing the item between a set of square brackets. The first starts the code and the last square brackets ends the code with a forward slash.
eg for making the text bold:
"Links" - ie web addresses linked
To add a link, it is usually possibly just to copy and paste the link directly into the "Post" dialogue box.
To create a formatted link, use the Instant UBB code "URL". This will allow you to copy and paste or type in the URL or web address, and then next, some text which will be visible in the post, instead of the web link address. Or you can use an image of also using the Image code.
Some forums use the IMG. This does NOT work on these forums. These forums require the "image" code:
1. Your photos or images must be located on the net. Not on your PC or device only.
This could be an image hosting service, your won webspace on an ISP, perhaps a cloud storage area.
The photo location MUST allow "hot linking" ie the firect image web address to display the image elsewhere on the internet. Not all sites or net folders allow this. eg facebook does not allow images loaded on facebook to be displayed directly elsewhere other than on facebook.
What you need to do is determine the web address of your image, and it should end with a .jpg or .gif or .png .
You load your image on your photo storage web place, copy the image web address and in the NE forums use the square brackets and the image web address to display your image.
Generally at the current time, an image greater than 1024 pixels in width will cause the forums to stretch larger than a screen. And for "portrait" styled images, a maximum of about 600 pixels is about the biggest.
Images can be edited in size, dimensions, all sorts of edits using all sorts of photo/image editing software. OR there is a free sight listed on NE where an image can be uploaded, and a pixel width selected, and it will create an edited image which can be saved for use.
